Programme to be presented at the preliminary and final stages

Level 1 (up to 10 years)
·         Compulsory work: M. Lourdes Martins: “Peças para cinco notas”, from “Peças para Crianças”;
·         Two works by different composers.

       Level 2 (up to 12 years)
       Preliminary Stage
·         Compulsory work: R. Coelho: “Canção dos Ceifeiros” from “Álbum para a Juventude Portuguesa”;
·         A study;
·         A polyphonic work (from the Baroque period or other periods)

        Final Stage
·         A piece;
·         A sonatina’s lively movement (or sonata).

       Level 3 (up to 14 years)
       Preliminary Stage
·         Compulsory work: S. Heller: “Kinderstucke”, op. 124, nº9;
·         A study;
·         A work by J.S. Bach (Invention or Symphony)

Final Stage
·         Free choice repertoire, no more than 15 minutes long. It must include a work by a Portuguese composer.

          Level 4 (up to 16 years)
          Preliminary Stage
·         Compulsory work: S. Heller: Prelude, op. 81, nº 15;
·         A study;
·         A prelude and fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier by J. S. Bach.

         Final Stage
·         Free choice repertoire, no more than 20 minutes long. It must include a work by a Portuguese composer.

     
         Level V (up to 18 years)
         Preliminary Stage
·         Compulsory work: S. Heller: Prelude, op. 81, nº 14;
·         A study;
·         A prelude and fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier or an original work by J. S. Bach (Suite, Partitas, Toccatas, Concerto Italiano, Fantasies and Fugues, etc.).

         Final Stage
·         Free choice repertoire, no more than 25 minutes long. It must include a work by a Portuguese composer.


Only the participants selected at the preliminary stages will perform at the final stages.
     Works previously performed at the Preliminary stages cannot be played at the Final Stages.
